Austrian artist Darius Edlinger presents at gallery rauminhalt_harald bichler an ensemble of graphically abstracted musical instruments and corresponding phrases of reduced sounds pressed onto vinyl.

Each large-format drawing, which is suspended from the ceiling, finds its acoustic equivalent in a specially composed and repetitive musical motif. For this special exhibition setting in the gallery, Darius Edlinger uses six instruments for his ensemble. For his first series he conceived short motifs for piano, violin, viola, cello, triangle and synthesizer, which he gradually changed during the production by manipulating their tonal qualities.

The individual painting in connection with its corresponding sound stands for itself. In the exhibition, Edlinger allows these individual works to sound as an ensemble, which, as a result of tonal overlaps, form a unified sound and produce different nuances depending on the position of the needles of the individual turntables.

With the help of six turntables positioned in a circle, Edlinger allows them to sound as an ensemble, which in turn fuse into a unified entirety in the exhibition space through tonal overlays from various directions. Depending on the position of the needle of each turntable, different nuances become audible. A special feature is that each vinyl record is attributed to its own motif.

Der österreichische Künstler Darius Edlinger präsentiert in der Galerie rauminhalt_harald bichler ein Ensemble aus Bildern graphisch abstrahierter Musikinstrumente und dazugehörige, auf Vinyl gepresste Phrasen reduzierter Klänge.

Jedes der großformatigen und von der Decke abgehängten Einzelbilder findet sein akustisches Pendant in einem eigens komponierten, sich wiederholenden musikalischen Motiv. Für die spezielle Ausstellungssituation in der Galerie greift Darius Edlinger auf sechs Instrumente für sein Ensemble zurück. Für seine erste Serie konzipierte er für Klavier, Violine, Viola, Cello, Triangel und Synthesizer kurze Motive, die er im Zuge der Produktion durch Manipulation ihrer klanglichen Beschaffenheit einer graduellen Veränderung unterzog.

Edlinger lässt diese mit Hilfe von sechs, im Kreis positionierter Plattenspieler, zu einem Ensemble erklingen, die wiederum durch klangliche Überlagerungen aus unterschiedlichen Richtungen zu einem im Ausstellungsraum verwachsenen Ganzen verschmelzen. Je nach Position der Nadel der einzelnen Plattenspieler werden unterschiedliche Nuancen hörbar. Eine Besonderheit liegt dabei darin, dass jede Vinylplatte ihr eigenes Motiv zugesprochen bekommt.
